September 2006

- UK's BIGGEST PIGEON SHOW CANCELLED
The British Pigeon Show Society National Championship Show
will not take place this year.
In 2005 the event was moved from its long established home at Doncaster
Racecourse to Pickering but owing to Avian Flu restrictions, was cancelled.
The show was expected to go ahead this year but regretfully the committee
pulled the plug at the last minute. No official reason has been forthcoming
but a BPSS statement has been promised for the October issue of Feathered
World.
Most of the other Autumn and Winter shows are going ahead as planned
with one notable exception - there will be no pigeons at the Federation
Show at Stafford in December, but the poultry section will proceed as
planned.
- Full details of Autumn and Winter shows appear in Feathered World
